Oklahoma City police arrested a woman accused of forcing a 5-year-old girl in her home to live in a closet among her own urine and feces.

The girl, who weighs only 19 pounds, was taken to a hospital.
Asusena Marie Gonzales, 31, was arrested Monday on a complaint of child neglect and seven city warrants, including disorderly conduct. She was booked in the Oklahoma County jail but has been released on $20,000 bond.

Officers were called to the 1100 block of SW 36 shortly before 11 a.m. Monday to assist a state Department of Human Services worker. The employee told officers the girl's caretaker was forcing her to stay in the closet and gave her a cup to urinate and defecate in.
The girl appeared to be very malnourished, beaten and emaciated, police said.
Her arms and legs were very thin, and the bones in her joints were visible, according to the police report. She had very little muscle tissue on her bones and a couple of small cuts on her arms with dried blood, police said.

Officers also observed that the closet smelled of urine and feces. The rest of the house appeared to be clean, and the other children appeared healthy, according to the report.
The DHS worker told police it was alleged that the girl was the target of the abuse because she looked like her father, and Gonzales doesn't like him.
Five other children were taken from the home and placed into protective custody.

Police said Gonzales told them she hasn't taken the girl to see a doctor since she was 4. She said the girl was premature and weighed 4 pounds when she was born.

JOKE: Dying Relatives

A man in a bar sees a friend at a table, drinking by himself.

Approaching the friend he comments, "You look terrible. What's the problem?"

"My mother died in June," he said, "and left me $10,000."

"Gee, that's tough," he replied.

"Then in July," the friend continued, "My father died, leaving me $50,000."

"Wow. Two parents gone in two months. No wonder you're depressed."

"And last month my aunt died, and left me $15,000."

"Three close family members lost in three months? How sad."

"Then this month," continued, the friend, "nothing!"

Pigeon has taken New York ferry every day for past three years

A feral pigeon nicknamed Tony has been riding the New York Waterway ferry from Manhattan to Weehawken at the same time every day for three years.

"I've been working this job for 23 years and I've never seen anything like this," says senior deckhand George Schumpp, a 52-year-old from the upper East Side. "Three years ago, this pigeon shows up and starts going through the cabin and eating crumbs. Next thing you know, he's here every day at the exact same time. And he does more work cleaning than my partner."

According to deckhands and regular passengers, Tony boards the Thomas Jefferson ferry every morning at Pier 79 on W. 39th St. during the rush-hour commute. He travels back and forth on the boat to New Jersey, exiting briefly at each dock to search for food, before disembarking after two hours without fail back in Manhattan.

He then repeats the same two-hour routine, wandering both the upper and lower decks of the boat, during the evening commute. The only time he ever misses a day is during a blizzard.
