Woman's Wallet Returned With More Money Inside
CONCORD, N.H.
A Concord woman who lost her wallet just days after giving birth received a welcome surprise from a stranger.
Nicole Parizo said she assumed her wallet was gone for good until she got a phone call from a man who'd just received a backpack as a gift from Target.
The man said he found her wallet in the backpack that Parizo had returned.
After her wallet was returned, Parizo found the man had left $150 inside.
"I e-mailed him and said, 'Thank you so much, I just opened my wallet.' And he said, 'You're very welcome, I know what it's like, I have four kids,'" said Parizo.
"And he said, 'All I ask, is that in returned you do something nice for somebody else,' she said.
On Saturday, Parizo spotted a bone marrow drive for Adam Castle, a Concord father of three suffering from Leukemia.
Parizo chose to join the bone marrow registry and said she thought about the man who reached out to her, while doing so.
JOKE: An elderly couple
An elderly couple, still very loving after all these years, was shocked when the woman's doctor said she had a heart condition that could kill her at any time.
She had to avoid stress, eat right, and never have sex again, or the strain might kill her.
They reluctantly tried to live by those rules but, over time, both got really horny, so the husband decided to sleep on the downstairs couch to prevent temptation.
For a few weeks, this arrangement worked; until one night, about 1 a.m., when they met each other on the stairs -- she coming down, he heading up.
"Honey, I have to confess," she said, her voice quavering. "I was about to commit suicide."
"Glad to hear that, sweetie," he answered, "because I was just coming up to kill you!"

Cat survives 70-foot jump off Washington bridge
Longview veterinarian A. Russell Moore
KELSO, Wash A high-flying cat is banged up after jumping off the Allen Street Bridge but should make a full recovery thanks to several local veterinarians who have donated their services.
A distraught woman called the Humane Society of Cowlitz County on June 3 to report she was driving across the Allen Street Bridge and saw a cat crawl out of the engine compartment of the truck ahead of her. The cat dashed through traffic, disappeared beneath a car, re-emerged and leapt off the bridge, HSCC Officer Rich Falk said Thursday.
"They were horrified," Falk said of the woman, who was with her two young daughters.
The woman drove around and under the bridge, found the cat beneath a car in the Kelso City Hall parking lot and called the Humane Society. Falk retrieved the animal, which he said was "just a loving cat, and it was having a horrible day."
"She was somebody's pet," he continued. "She's a very, very good cat ... Doesn't have a mean bone in her body."
The cat had fallen roughly 70 feet, said Rick Johnson, executive director of the Humane Society of Cowlitz County.
"I'm surprised she survived the fall," Johnson said. "She landed probably the best way she could, considering."
A vet gave the cat pain medication and sent her home for the night with a foster family. That night, the cat miscarried a litter of kittens, Johnson said.
The next day at Lower Columbia Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Tammy White diagnosed and treated the cat for a broken palate (the top of the mouth), injured when cat's head slammed into the pavement.
Dr. Jani Remsburg at Lower Columbia took an X-ray of the cat's leg and determined it was broken. Dr. Russell Moore at Ocean Beach Animal Hospital set the leg and cast. Dr. Stacey Martzall spayed the cat at the Humane Society facility.
All the veterinarians donated their work, Johnson said.
"It's just one of those interesting stories where everyone agreed to help out," he said.
Despite the kitty's ordeal, "she's in remarkably good humor," Johnson said.
The tabby cat is about 3 years old and will stay with a foster family until she's healed and ready for adoption.
And what is the cat called?
Johnson he hadn't thought of that until asked but decided she needed a "flying name" to honor her adventure. Famed American aviatrix Amelia Earhart popped to mind, and the matter was settled.
"Amelia," he said. "We're calling her Amelia."

Singer, actress, comedienne, blogger, mother, Carla Zilbersmith did her best not to let being diagnosed in December 2007 with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, the progressive neurodegenerative disease, dampen her high-spirited sense of humour.
Sadly, Carla passed away on May 17th 2010, at the age of 47. She left this goodbye to be played at her funeral.

http://carlamuses.blogspot.com/JOKE: Farmer Jones lives with his tame bear
Farmer Jones lives with his tame bear in the remote country with only dirt access roads. His bear had been naughty that day so he put him in the barn and said "You stay here until you learn how to behave yourself."
Shortly afterwards it begin to rain (a real heavy downpour). About an hour later a traveling salesman got stuck in the mud and asked the farmer for a place to stay.
The farmer told him he didn't have room in the house, however he could stay in the barn. He told the salesman there were no lights in the barn and his tame bear was in the barn. The farmer said the bear would not bother him. The salesman went to the barn.
Later another traveling salesman got stuck in the mud and the Farmer told him about the barn-no lights and the tame bear. The salesmen left for the barn.
One hour later a woman got stuck in the mud and approached the Farmer. He told her about the barn and mentioned the two travelling salesmen (he was so concerned about the salesmen he forgot to mention the bear).
The woman said, "I can take care of myself." and left for the barn.
Two hours later the farmer was awakened by heavy knocking at the door. When opening the door the woman was standing there with her clothes torn and rumpled. The farmer said, "Good heavens what happened to you?"
The woman replied, "I give up on human nature, the first guy gave me forty dollars, the second guy gave me fifty dollars, but that cheap bastard in the fur coat never even said thanks."
