US Air Force officer killed in freak accident after tire exploded inside car
A US Air Force officer has died after a tire exploded inside her sports car while she was on holiday in Scotland, police said. Captain Jenna Wilcox, 27, who had survived a roadside bomb attack on a recent tour in Afghanistan, was on a break with her husband when the freak accident happened last week. She was rushed to hospital but died last night.
It is thought the couple had changed the wheel on their BMX Z3 after noticing a bulge in a tire. They replaced it with the space saver tire - designed to get them to a local garage - but could not fit the full size one in the boot because it was full of luggage.
Capt Wilcox, of the 100th Civil Engineer Squadron based at RAF Mildenhall in Suffolk, sat with it on her lap inside the car. It is not known what caused it to explode. She died from her injuries at the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh, five days after the accident.
Her 27-year-old husband Scott is also a captain in the air force with 48th Civil Engineer Squadron, based at RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk. He suffered minor injuries in the tire explosion, which happened in Dalkeith, Midlothian, at around 6pm last Saturday.
priest turns up drunk to funeral and punches mourner in face
Father Bonaventure Ouedraogo, who is from Burkina Faso, was told by relatives that they did not want him to preside over the funeral held near the southwestern city of Toulouse France.
They then prevented him from getting back into his car because he was too drunk to drive, according to Gerard Tillier, brother of the deceased woman. At this point the priest fell to the ground, and when a man tried to help him to his feet, he punched him in the face.
"Father Bonaventure ... arrived at the funeral in a state that was not compatible with his ministry," said archbishop Robert Le Gall in a statement. "I again offer my apologies to the family."
Mr Tillier said: "A priest who hits his parishioners, that's a new one, and who turns up drunk, let's not even talk about it!"
JOKE: A man and his ever-nagging wife went on vacation in Jerusalem
A man and his ever-nagging wife went on vacation in Jerusalem . While they were there, the wife passed away.
The undertaker told the husband, "You can have her buried here in the Holy Land for $150 or we can have her shipped back home for $5000. The husband thought about it and told the undertaker he would have her shipped back home.
The undertaker asked him, "why would you spend $5000 to have her shipped home when you could have a beautiful burial here, and it would only cost $150????" The husband replied, "Long ago, a man died here, was buried here, and three days later, rose from the dead. I Just cant take that chance!
