NY Woman Allowed to Harvest Dead Husband's Sperm

omg

A judge gave permission for a New York woman to extract her dead husband's sperm to conceive a child -- but it may be too late.

George Kamau killed himself Monday, according to The Associated Press. His widow, Victoria Chege, says that she wants to have his child in order to continue his legacy.

"It was the intent of George Kamau to conceive a child prior to his untimely death," Chege wrote in papers filed in Manhattan Supreme Court. "[He] expressed his desire to have children so that his legacy may continue."

Justice Shirley Kornreich gave the court order that Chege needed on Thursday. She can now harvest the sperm, which she then plans to use to inseminate a surrogate mother.

Still, it may all be too late.

Last year, another New Yorker harvested sperm from her husband who had died from an apparent heart attack. The doctor extracted sperm 32 hours after the man died.

The sperm did not impregnate the woman, according to The New York Post.

Previously, judges in other states including Texas and California have granted permission to harvest the sperm of a dead man.

JOKE: LOOKS JUST LIKE HIS FATHER

A woman was walking along pushing her newborn baby in the carriage when an old friend approached her.

The friend leaned over, peering into the carriage said, "What a beautiful baby boy, and he looks JUST like his father."

"I know," replied the woman, "I just wish he looked more like my husband!"

Kung fu sisters challenge suitors

A pair of kung fu sisters have given traditional dating the chop - to hold a challenge tournament where only the survivors will get the chance to date them.

Marital arts experts Xiao Lin, 22, and little sister Yin, 21, are to stage a three day fighting festival in Foushan, south east China, where only the toughest suitors stand a chance of getting through.

First contestants must show off their archery skills, then they must carry a heavy weight over sharpened bamboo spears, and finally they have to defeat one of the sisters in full contact combat.

Only then will contestants earn the right to remove the girls' masks and propose to them.

"They can chose open hand or any weapon they wish but we won't be holding back. If they can't beat us they aren't worthy," explained Lin.

"We tried dating agencies but the men we met were all too weak. We could beat them easily," said Yin.

"So we went back to ancient ways called Bi Wu Zhao Qin - which was the way warrior princesses would find their men."

But so far, only a trickle of brave contestants has come forward.

"I'm a very good martial artist - but I think I'd want to see them with the masks off before I decided whether I wanted to fight for them," said one doubtful suitor.

Mosque defaced with bacon

Muslims are calling on the FBI to investigate after someone wrote the words "pig" and "chump" in bacon outside a mosque in Florence, South Carolina.

Mushtaq Hussain had just finished praying at the Islamic centre when he walked out and found the messages on the walkway. At first, he thought it was a practical joke. But not anymore.

"Then later on, we thought seriously and we thought, 'You know, somebody doesn't like us,'" Hussain said. The incident is especially offensive because most Muslims do not eat pig products.

Because nothing was done to an actual person, police were investigating the incident as harassment, rather than a hate crime.
